James Valek, MD, FAAFP joined CFHC as the Chief Medical Officer in November 2015 to oversee all clinical operations at five health center locations in South Chicago, Pullman, East Side, Roseland and Chicago Lawn, as well as manage the functions of more than 30 providers and other healthcare professionals.

Dr. Valek is an experienced healthcare administrator who most recently served as Medical Director of Little Company of Mary Hospitals Hospice and Medical Groups in Chicago. He also served as a Family Physician at Vista Family Medicine; Medical Director of Advocate Health Care Hospice Program and Director of Community Medicine at UIC-Christ Family Practice Center. He’s also worked as a staff physician at various hospitals and health centers, including Chicago Family Health Center in 1997, then known as the Claretian Medical Center. Dr. Valek is excited to be back at CFHC and grateful for the warm welcome he’s received from his former and new colleagues.
